Professional Development Workshops
Customized full- or half-day professional development workshops offer classroom and arts teachers the opportunity to experience the arts and, in a fun yet rigorous setting, learn to integrate the arts into the classroom and school environment. Educators learn practical hands-on strategies and develop specific artistic and pedagogical skills that can be integrated into their existing instruction to make their work more effective.
Below is a sampling of past professional development workshops the Guild has provided to schools in the New York metropolitan area; this list is not comprehensive, and we are delighted to work with schools in New York and New Jersey to create new workshops that best suit their needs.
Previous Professional Development Opportunities Include:
- In-Class Arts Partnership PD
- NYC DOE Blueprints in the Arts for Music and Theater
- Theater Games for the Classroom
- Teaching is Performing
- Collaborative workshops in partnership with Jazz @ Lincoln Center, the New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, and Lincoln Center Institute.
