Please be advised that dance auditions for the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of NIXON in CHINA, the revival of ORFEO, and Extra Dancers for the 2010/2011 season will be as follows:

For ORFEO, director and choreographer Mark Morris is looking for highly skilled dancers with a refined sense of musicality, well versed in ballet and modern techniques.
For NIXON in CHINA, choreographer Mark Morris is looking for dancers (preferably of Asian descent) with strong classical technique. Men to have acrobatic/tumbling skills and women to have strong pointe work.
In order to fulfill the NIXON in CHINA engagement you would need to be available for rehearsals beginning December 27, 2010 through the dress rehearsal scheduled for January 31, 2011 and as needed; and for performances scheduled for: February 2, 5, 9, 12 matinee, 15, 19, 2011
In order to fulfill the ORFEO engagement you would need to be available for rehearsals beginning March 29, 2011 through the dress rehearsal scheduled for April 27, 2011 and as needed; and for performances scheduled for: April 29, May 4, 7, 11, 14, 2011
Please enter the Metropolitan Opera (Lincoln Center) through the Concourse doors into Founders’ Hall.
If you are an AGMA member please bring your VALID AGMA membership card with you. Please also bring a photo resume with you to the audition.
