    The Met’s 2012–13 season opened with Anna Netrebko and Matthew Polenzani starring in the premiere of Bartlett Sher’s new production of Donizetti’s most popular comedy. Maurizio Benini conducted this Opening Night Gala performance, also featuring Mariusz Kwiecien and Ambrogio Maestri. The performance was followed by a gala cast dinner, sponsored by Deutsche Bank. Additional funding is provided by Manhattan Jaguar.

  • Gala Premiere
    UN BALLO IN MASCHERA
    New Production

    Verdi’s riveting opera returned to the Met in David Alden’s powerful new production. Sondra Radvanovsky, Dolora Zajick, Marcelo Álvarez, and Dmitri Hvorostovsky starred in this special gala opening, conducted by Fabio Luisi. Cocktails and a gala dinner on the Mercedes T. Bass Grand Tier precede the performance.

  • New Year’s Eve Gala

    Ring in 2013 at the Metropolitan Opera premiere of Donizetti’s stunning bel canto drama. Joyce DiDonato sings the title role of Mary, Queen of Scots, in the second of David McVicar’s Met productions of the composer’s Tudor trilogy. Elza van den Heever is her rival, Queen Elizabeth I, and Matthew Polenzani sings Leicester. Maurizio Benini conducts. The gala performance is followed by dinner and dancing on the Mercedes T. Bass Grand Tier.

    David Daniels and Natalie Dessay are Caesar and Cleopatra in Handel’s operatic masterpiece, conducted by Harry Bicket. David McVicar’s inventive production caused a sensation at its U.K. premiere. Cocktails and a gala dinner on the Mercedes T. Bass Grand Tier precede the performance. The Met is grateful to Gilbert Albert, Corporate Sponsor of this gala benefit.

  • On Stage at the Met

    Sunday, May 5, 2013
    Enjoy a special evening with a cocktail reception on the Mercedes T. Bass Grand Tier, followed by a black-tie dinner on stage honoring Met Managing Director Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer and Joseph Neubauer, Chairman of ARAMARK. There will be dancing, tributes, and musical performances by Met stars Patricia Racette, Danielle de Niese, Isabel Leonard, and Jay Hunter Morris.
