Major Gifts

($25,000 or more)

The Major Gifts Program provides Metropolitan Opera Patrons with a high level of ticket priority and a staff member on whom they can call for all matters related to the Met.

For an annual gift of $25,000 or more, Major Gift Patrons receive:

 

  • Significantly increased ticket priority at each level for all opera and dance performances
  • Guidance in obtaining subscription seats or tickets for single performances
  • Assistance with ticket exchanges and seating improvements
  • Invitations to events exclusively for Major Gift Patrons
  • Invitations to briefings on artistic and institutional planning
  • Invitation to annual recital by members of the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and artist reception
  • Priority reservations at the Grand Tier Restaurant
  • Prominent donor recognition in Playbill, the annual Season Book and other Met publications
  • All benefits of the Met's Patron Program, including admission to the Patron Lounge, complimentary Patron coat check, subscription to Opera News, and passes to dress and working rehearsals.  Major Gift Patrons receive extra rehearsal passes at each giving level.

PRESIDENT'S CIRCLE

President’s Circle Sponsor: annual gift of $25,000 or more ($245 non-deductible)
President’s Circle Fellow: annual gift of $35,000 or more ($245 non-deductible)

THE SILVER CIRCLE

Annual gift of $50,000 or more (non-deductible base amount $495 per year; additional optional benefits will increase the non-deductible portion of the gift)

In addition to all the privileges listed above, members of The Silver Circle receive:

 

  • Invitation to an exclusive luncheon hosted by a member of the Met's Senior Management
  • Access to final dress rehearsals for new productions
  • Dinner for eight guests in the Grand Tier Restaurant during the third year of membership

THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE

A commitment of $200,000 or more over three years or $70,000 annually (non-deductible base amount $845 per year; additional optional benefits will increase the non-deductible portion of the gift)

Members of The Golden Horseshoe help guarantee the Metropolitan Opera's financial stability through their multi-year pledges. During the course of their membership term, in addition to all the privileges listed above, they receive:

  • Dedication of a performance in their honor, including a prominent listing on the cast page of the program, a special dinner at The Grand Tier Restaurant and a center parterre box
  • Invitation to the Met’s annual Golden Horseshoe dinner, with guest artists
  • Inscription of the member’s name on the Golden Horseshoe plaque on the Mercedes T. Bass Grand Tier of the Opera House
  • Dining privileges at the private Metropolitan Opera Club
  • Gold cuff links, stickpin or brooch designed by Tiffany & Co. exclusively for members of the Golden Horseshoe (value $1,400)
  • Access to the Metropolitan Opera Club during dress rehearsal intermissions (please note that food and beverages are not available)

THE COUNCIL FOR ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE

Annual gift of $100,000, $250,000, $500,000 or more (non-deductible base amount $1,855; additional optional benefits will increase the non-deductible portion of the gift)

Through its Council for Artistic Excellence, the Metropolitan Opera recognizes an exclusive group of dedicated friends for their leadership commitments.  In addition to all the privileges for Major Gift Patrons, Council members receive:

  • Concierge service offering the highest ticket priority at the Met and last-minute tickets, where available
  • Dedication of a performance in their honor every two years, including a prominent listing on the cast page of the program, a special dinner at the Grand Tier Restaurant and a center parterre box (value of goods and services $3,960)
  • Invitation to the annual Council gala, on the night of a new production premiere
  • Invitations to selected closed dress rehearsals, private coaching sessions with young artists and other opportunities to meet Met performers
  • Dining privileges at the private Metropolitan Opera Club
  • Additional privileges tailored to the individual interests of the member
